Psychotherapy Affiliates practices therapy that is: Confidential We
are an affiliation of skilled, professional New York State licensed
therapists with years of experience helping individuals and couples deal
with their emotional and relationship problems in new and constructive
ways. A quiet and supportive environment allows you to take the time to
stop and reflect. Together, we can explore and get a handle on your
difficulties. Your feelings deserve attention. Our expertise comes from years of experience, extensive training and a commitment to continuing education. We practice proven therapeutic methods based on the latest research. We can be flexible to fit your schedule. Day and evening appointments are available - we can usually schedule your first appointment within a day or two. We
have offices in several locations in the New York metropolitan area. We
encourage you to contact us, even if you are not sure if therapy is for
you. We will set up an initial complementary telephone consultation to
answer any questions you have. We are New York State licensed
therapists, so a percentage of your fees should be reimbursed to you,
depending on the specifics of your insurance plan. We accept Medicare
payments directly.

My name is Carol Friedlander, and I
have been in private practice for over twenty years.
My experience includes an internship at Bellevue Hospital,
several years at Beth Israel's outpatient therapy program, as well as
years of experience conducting therapy at private clinics in the New
York metropolitan area. I tend to be interactive, flexible and practical, and tailor the therapeutic approach to your unique situation. I specialize in working with clients with depression and anxiety, low-self esteem, stress, relationship issues, obsessive compulsive and addictive disorders. Frequently, the focus is on helping you get in touch with your feelings and building self-esteem. I have trained at The American Healthcare Institute, Ackerman Institute for the Family, and National Association of Social Workers, and in addition to an MSW-CSW, hold an advanced Certificate in Clinical Social Work from New York University.
